This decision makes sense for the government. The election is just seven months away and the last thing it needs is the added uncertainty of a three-cornered contest.
However, it is an outcome with politics, not people, at its heart.
The Coalition partners have spent two weeks concentrating on what is best for themselves. Their attention needs to turn pretty quickly to what is best for the constituents of the seat of Wagga Wagga.
Meanwhile, this week, it was our immense pleasure to officially present CSU student Kerryn James with The Daily Advertiser scholarship.
The $3500 scholarship is awarded each year to a student at CSU’s Wagga campus who has achieved outstanding academic results and demonstrated a commitment to the community.
Kerryn is a final year oral health, therapy and hygiene student who used the money to travel to Cambodia to treat 800 children in low socio-economic areas with dental problems.
You can read more about Kerryn’s incredible Cambodia experience here.
All the best for the week ahead,
Ross
