Cooking school Foodiam and Aboriginal tour company Bundyi Cultural Tours took home the top awards in their categories at the Riverina Murray Regional Tourism Awards on Saturday.
Owner of Foodiam Tania Sibrey the award was a huge win not just for her but for her business partners as well.
“It's really exciting – not just for us but for the producers and the wineries and the brewers and the accommodation providers we work with,” Ms Sibrey said.
“That’s exciting, the fact we can bring tourism to town, and everyone benefits from that.”
Mark Saddler of Bundyi said his award was proof of the state’s thriving Aboriginal tourism industry.
“It’s not just an award for me – it’s recognition of Aboriginal tourism in NSW, which is booming,” Mr Saddler said.
“This was the first year ever that NSW surpassed Queensland with visitations to Aboriginal tourism.”
