Buoyed after their 2-all draw with Tolland before the bye, the Strikers headed to Tumut with high hopes but found themselves trailing 2-0 after just 20 minutes.
“We just didn’t turn up at all, especially at the start. We just weren’t concentrating and suddenly they were ahead,” Cootamundra skipper Adam McPhail said.
The Strikers regrouped after half time and got on the scoreboard through Derek Krogh before Max Holder squared things up with an equaliser.
“We were still the better team out there … but I’m just glad we got a point out of it,” McPhail said.
