The Steamers have won their last four games including the 74-22 victory over Reddies at Murrayfield on Saturday.
Despite missing a number of their big names, Albury were always in control of the clash.
Coach Paul Musarra is pleased with how they are building into their first finals series since winning the 2015 grand final.
“It was a good win,” Musarra said.
“They (CSU) played well in patches and forced a lot of errors from us, but we are pretty happy.
“We scored a lot of tries and did some good things.”
Sam Allen scored four of them as he returned from injury for the clash.
Musarra is still toying with where to play him in the back line
James Devlin, Dave Cooper-Dunn, Rossouw Visser and Arran MacDougall all missed the win, but Musarra is hopeful all will be back to tackle Tumut in the elimination final on Saturday.
