An inspired performance from Tom Bennetts in the midfield and a dominant effort up forward from Daniel Jordan has helped North Wagga to a massive 73-point victory against the Northern Jets on Saturday.

The table-topping Saints delivered a powerful statement against a team hoping to play finals, and stretched their winning streak into double figures in the process.
The 19.9 (123) to 7.8 (50) win at Ardlethan was North Wagga’s 10th consecutive victory since a two-point loss at Gumly Oval way back in round three.
With a bye to come next week, the Saints will head into August having last tasted defeat in April.
“The closer it gets to finals the better football we want to be playing,” Saints coach Kirk Hamblin said.
“It’d be nice to try and time your run and be improving every week. But every week we just concentrate on playing the same brand of football and having the same mindset whether you’re playing a top team or a bottom team.”
North Wagga led by just a goal at quarter-time but kicked 10 goals to two in the second quarter to put the game to bed by half-time.
“In the first quarter we didn’t make the most of our opportunities in front of goal. In the second quarter, we opened the game up and hit the scoreboard pretty hard. But the last half was a real tussle,” Hamblin said.
He was rapt in the effort of their midfielders who dominated throughout. They were led by Bennetts who produced another big game and went forward to find a few goals, finishing with four.
But it was full-forward Daniel Jordan who shone in that department, kicking their three goals in the first quarter and adding three more in the second, on his way to seven for the game.
“He had a real good first half and if he was a bit more accurate in front of goals he could’ve had a few more,” Hamblin said.
“He’s a headache for every team we come up against. He’s ferocious around the football and his work on the ground is as good as in the air. Every week he gets double-teamed and still finds a way to get the job done.”
It was the eighth time this season that North Wagga has kicked at least 15 goals.
Corey Watt hurt an ankle in the warm-up. He managed to play but only until half-time, however Hamblin doesn’t believe it’s a serious concern.
Defender Luke Walsh had another fine game along with Cayden Winter and Troy Curtis.
The Jets managed to limit the Saints to six goals after half-time but the damage was well and truly done. The result means they’re two wins behind fifth-placed Charles Sturt University and adds extra pressure heading into next week’s must-win game against the Bushpigs.
Alex Rogers impressed for the Jets across half-back while Chris Bell in the midfield did his best to keep them in it.
