The two-day pop-up festival at the Wagga Showgrounds also has amusement riders, desserts and boutique retail stalls.
The event, which is on tonight until 10pm and resumes 4pm–10pm tomorrow, has given locals the chance to experience diversity and indulge in some delicious food.
Sam Adams, organiser and owner of Aussie Night Markets, said they chose Wagga because a number of people requested it.
“There were quite a few [requests] because we started doing more and more events outside of Sydney, which is home base.
“So we thought: ‘why not?’,” Mr Adams said.
Asked if the event would become annual in Wagga, he said they would come back if this year’s event went well.
“We’ll have to get a few more locals to hold stalls next time,” he said.
Local food vendor Cassandra Bela, who runs Tato Tornado since September last year after her father died, said it was a positive for Wagga.
“We’re hoping for big crowds because it’s something new to Wagga. It’s a snippet of the Wagga Show but a little different still, so it’s good,” she said.
She described her food as “swirly chips on a stick”.
“All my friends tagged me in the post requesting food vendors. I applied pretty quickly,” she said.
Kaz Halden, who travelled from Carabost to sell her jewellry, said the event was “a cracking thing”.
“It’s going to be a good weekend. Friday and Saturday night – what else is there to do during school holidays in winter?”
