The Demons moved one game clear on top of the Riverina League ladder with a 57-42 victory over MCUE last Saturday.
It was their second win of the season over the Goannas, with their only blemish for the year being a close loss to Wagga Tigers.
Collingullie-GP teenager Flynn Hogg led the way in the big win over MCUE with an impeccable display of shooting.
“The score wasn’t really a true indication of how hard it was,” Norbury said.
“I was quite surprised after the game about how well we went. It was a really good team effort even though it wasn’t everyone’s best individual effort.”
The arrival of goal keeper Brigetta Hart and centre court player Tameka Scott have proven valuable inclusions for Collingullie-GP.
“Brigetta’s been fantastic. She’s come from a different style of netball and her talk out on the court has been really positive, especially with such a young side,” Norbury said.
“Tameka has been really good in the centre court as well. She’s played the full game in the centre for the last five or six weeks.”
The Demons take on Turvey Park this Saturday, a team Norbury expects to be right there at the end of the year despite them currently sitting in fifth.
“They’ve had a few players missing but once they get everyone available come finals they’ll be right up there,” she said.
Turvey Park need to win on Saturday to stay in fifth spot, with sixth-placed Narrandera only behind on percentage.
Norbury believes her team is headed in the right direction.
“We’re starting to come through now, I think everyone realises it’s that time of the season where you have to start to build towards finals,” she said.
