AFL champions Wayne Carey, Matthew Richardson, Danny Frawley and Campbell Brown are set to headline a Sportsman’s Night in Wagga on Thursday week, July 26.
But the night is now in doubt due to a lack of ticket sales.
Kerry Flinn has organised the four AFL stars-turned media personalities to appear in Wagga as a fundraiser for Kidney Kids.
All proceeds go to The Kidney Foundation.
But Flinn is devastated by a lack of ticket sales and is set to cancel the event unless there is a groundswell of support in the next two days.
“We’ll have to make a decision by Thursday, or Friday at the latest,” Flinn said.
“We don’t want to cancel the event but will have to if the people of Wagga don’t support it.
“We’re asking all AFL clubs, players and coaches to get behind it.”
Tickets for the night are $90, including a two-course meal, and are available from The Commercial Club during office hours or online.
There will be lucky door prizes, raffle, cash cow and many auction items. There are also sponsorship packages available that include being seated with the celebrities, plus pre-dinner drinks and breakfast the following day.
The event is being held at Wagga RSL Club at 6.30pm.
Flinn cannot believe there has not been more support.
“How often would you get four quality players together like these on the one night?,” he said.
“You might get one, but not four famous footballers like these.”
Flinn can be contacted on 0428 693 508.
