Tolland’s premiership hopes have been dealt a cruel blow after first choice goalkeeper Riley Portors was ruled out for the rest of the year.
Tolland coach Daniel Lawrence was hopeful the seasoned gloveman would make a return but has since revealed he won’t be coming back this season.
“Riley’s more than likely played his last game for the year,” Lawrence said on Monday.
In addition to his work in goals, Portors has scored four goals for Tolland across the Pascoe Cup and Gardiner Shield competitions.
Tolland’s 15-year-old goalkeeper Mitchyl McCrory will continue to man the gloves as the Wolves look to close the gap on ladder-leaders Lake Albert.
Portors isn’t the only casualty for the Wolves with Matthew Kleine booked in for shoulder surgery next month.
“Matt’s heading in to surgery around August 30 from memory, so we’ll be missing him too in a while,” Lawrence said.
