The lightly-raced mare has only started five times for a win and two placings – her latest taking place at Albury over subsequent winner Fashion Tip.
Whitelaw doesn’t train too many horses and believes Rosie’s Reward has more wins in store.
“She has had a few weeks between starts and I have waited just for this race which is ideal,” he said.
“It’s a tougher race and she is up in grade on her maiden win.”
Canberra apprentice jockey Akira Kajiya retains the ride and Whitelaw is glad to be able to make use of his three kilogram allowance.
“He has been riding a few winners so his three kilogram claim won’t last for long so hopefully he still has it by Tuesday,” he said.
Kajiya became an internet sensation when he won at Cowra on Saturday despite losing both of his irons.
