Terry Storch and John Wells combined to win their second title with a 3-1 victory over Nick Kaletta and Blair O’Brien.
Wells won both his games in the final, beating O’Brien 70-65 before backing it up with a 53-47 win over Kaletta.
Storch lost to Kaletta 82-58 before downing O’Brien 73-58 to seal the win for Grinders.
Wells was pleased to get the better of a hard-fought final.
“They were extremely close games. High quality and very close,” Wells said.
“You couldn’t ask for any better competition. The quality of all the players this season was very good, all the teams improved. It’s great.
“It was great to actually play well, and also to our opponents, they played well also.”
Wells also thanked Wagga RSL Club for providing a venue for the competition.
Kaletta was disappointed not to be able to help O’Brien to his first title.
“That’s the way it goes,” he said.
“I was disappointed for my partner because he’s never won one.”
In the handicap singles competition, Peter Raczkowski took out the title last Wednesday with a 3-1 win over Brenden Mellan in an entertaining final.
Meantime, the start of the summer snooker competition will begin in August.
A meeting will be held on Tuesday night at the Wagga RSL Club at 7pm and any interested players are invited to attend.
