The 14-year-old centre departs for the World Youth Basketball Tournament in Hawaii next week and will form part of the Australian Country side seeking to take out the title.
One-on-one sessions with two of Wagga’s premier basketballers, Connell Crossland and Zac Maloney, have headlined Cochrane’s preparations for the tournament.
“The coaches gave us some training to do at home, so I’ve been doing that a fair bit too,” Cochrane said.
Cochrane has also been plying his trade for Albury’s representative side in the lead-up to Hawaii.
Now, it’s just a matter of getting over there and meeting up with his Australian team mates for three days of training ahead of the five-day competition.
“We’re flying over to LA first before heading to Hawaii,” mum Kate said.
