Gestier put pen to paper with the Demons before last week’s bye in a deal that will see him remain at the club until the end of 2019.
Gestier, 28, has the Demons in second position on the Riverina League ladder and is thrilled to stay on as the club’s coach for a third year.
“I’m stoked with it,” Gestier said.
“It’s exciting, and it’s good stability for the club and myself. They’re happy and I’m happy.
“Coaching is certainly a different aspect but I’ve found it rather enjoyable.”
Gestier, who hails from Wagga, arrived at Crossroads Oval after three seasons in the Ovens and Murray League.
He took the Demons within a kick of grand final success last year and they have won eight of their first nine games this season.
Gestier believes the club is well-placed going forward.
“The club is in a really good spot at the moment,” he said.
“You look at reserve grade and they are undefeated on top of the ladder, our under 17s are second and our netball is in great shape as well.
“We’re kicking goals on and off the field. It’s a great place to be around.”
Gestier said his sole focus was getting the best out of his playing group this season.
“Our focus is this year and as you know, anything can happen come September,” he said.
“Our focus is playing our best footy at the right time of year. It’s going to be a good challenge.”
Gestier has been restricted to five games this season due to ongoing hamstring issues.
He could be one of four inclusions for Saturday’s clash against third-placed Mangoplah-Cookardinia United-Eastlakes.
Gestier, fellow key forward Marc Geppert and Tim Beckmans are expected to return from hamstring injuries, while Dereck Singe is also in line to come back into the team after a calf injury.
Gestier and Geppert will both play as long as they get through training on Thursday night.
“I’ve got to get through training on Thursday night but I’m pretty positive I’ll play,” he said.
Collingullie-GP is the first club to publicly re-commit to their coach for next season.
Leeton-Whitton have replaced Jade Hodge with Daniel Muir for 2019, while both Wagga Tigers and Mangoplah-Cookardinia United-Eastlakes are on the hunt for new coaches.
