Cr Dan Hayes asked during Monday’s meeting about Destination NSW’s budget being “cut by 16 per cent”.
“I’m just querying what impact that might have in the work they do in this area, that we align with quite a lot,” he said.
Wagga City Council community director Janice Summerhayes said she had sought clarification on the issue.
“The Riverina Murray board, as a separate entity, will not be affected. It is going to affect the state-level body in particular,” she said.
“Additional funds that have been awarded to the different regional boards have already been banked by Riverina Murray.
“That’s pleasing as it’s an extra $500,000.”
