Just after 11:00 this morning, Wagga City Council was called to clean up a substance near the Bunnings Warehouse on Pearson Street.
Police were also called to divert northbound traffic along the two affected streets.
It is believed a tin of white or light blue paint was lost from the back of a ute as it exited the roundabout onto Dobney Avenue north.
Soon after arrival, council workers took the details of the male ute driver, and it is understood police will not be pursuing the matter.
Absorbing sand was spread across the paint to make the road usable once more.
Road blocks were removed just before 11:30, with traffic allowed into the affected zones again.
A police spokesperson confirmed the need for drivers to take care on the corner, where the road may remain wet or slippery from the incident.
The road is likely to retain the paint at least visually for a few days yet, but is otherwise safe to drive.
