Lake Albert will head into the weekend’s general bye with their unbeaten streak intact after posting a 4-1 win over competition cellar dwellers Junee on Sunday
Strong winds and the absence of regular starters Nick Anderson, Jarrod Eaton and Duncan Brodie failed to deter the Sharks, who comfortably accounted for the struggling Jaguars at Burns Park.
Jamie Rankin was the chief destroyer for Lake Albert with a brace of goals while Blake Smith and Fred Gardner chimed in with strikes of their own to keep the Sharks juggernaut in motion.
Lake Albert captain Ben Angel was pleased to record a win at the Jaguars’ home ground.
“It’s always a tough place to travel, especially with a few players out and a few nursing niggles here and there,” Angel said.
Lake Albert coach Tinnock was again forced to don a playing strip but said he was pleased with the result.
“We had a few injury problems and I had to play the whole match again,” Tinnock said.
“The wind played havoc out there but in the end, I’m happy just to get a good result.”
Both Angel and Sharks coach Mitch Tinnock agreed the general bye was coming at an ideal time for their ladder-leading side.
