Amy Hanlon and Elisha Ward scored two goals apiece in the Jaguars’ 4-0 win at Burns Park in a return to form while Hawks star Brooke Gaylor bagged a hat-trick in Henwood Park’s 5-0 victory over the ladies in orange.
Hawks coach Rod Buik was particularly pleased with his side’s performance.
“it was fairly difficult out there against United but we got away to a good start,” Buik said.
“We scored plenty of goals early on and that allowed us to concentrate on keeping our defensive shape in the second half.”
Meanwhile, the David and Daniel Merlino-coached South Wagga leapfrogged Tolland into third on the ladder after posting a 4-3 win over the Wolves at Rawlings Park.
Eleanor Miller and Biola Dawa scored two goals each to see the girls in green home in a thriller.
Both coaches were impressed with the Warriors’ team work, saying they gave it “100 per cent”.
