While they were pushed in the middle stages of the first half by their winless rivals, Aggies found all the answers in the last 60 minutes of the clash.
They ran in 15 tries to two to see them move around Tumut after the Bulls loss on the border with two rounds left before finals.
Coach Will Mitchell was pleased with the 95-12 victory.
“It was far from an 80 minute performance, but the boys are fixing it themselves,” Mitchell said.
“They are identifying problems, and where they need to improve and doing it quickly.
“They are not waiting until half-time or the end of the game which is the really pleasing part.
“If they play poor footy for 10 minutes they can turn it around and keep that momentum.”
Ag College flew out of the blocks with early tries to Cameron Duffy and Darcy Booth before Wagga City were able to turn the tide.
They got on the board through Tom Jennings to make it 12-5 before Aggies run in three quick fire tries.
The Boiled Lollies responded again through Jesse Uhr however two tries in the last three minutes of the first half from fullback Jock Ward gave Aggies all the ascendancy coming into the second stanza.
They continued where they left things off when Lochie Ramm went 60 metres to score his second.
The backs had dominated scoring in the first half, but it was the forwards who made plenty of inroads in the second half.
Ben Brooke took advantage of a strong run by Mike van Diggelen to score his second.
Front rower Jack McIntosh got in the act with a second half double as well before Ramm sealed the win with his third try.
Aggies have now won four on the trot to not only have locked in a finals place but move into the top three.
Finishing in third and tackling Leeton in the qualifying semi-final is the aim for Ag College.
“We’ve set our sights on that third spot and obviously just have to keep winning to secure it,” Mitchell said.
Sam Chalmers came out 20 minutes into his debut with an ankle injury while Andrew Knox had limited game time with an hamstring complaint.
Mitchell doesn’t expect them to be too serious.
The loss adds to a horror season for Wagga City.
They’ve conceded 222 points in their last two games, while only scoring 15 themselves and remain winless on the bottom of the ladder.
They showed glimpses of being competitive but struggled to sustain the pressure.
