The Children’s Theatre Workshop is putting the finishing touches on its production of Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory ahead of next week’s shows.
Sophia O’Connell, 14, who plays Charlie’s mum, said she and her fellow cast-members have been practising all term ahead of the big reveal.
“It’s been really good – I’ve gotten to know some more people, and we all work really well together,” Sophia said.
“It’s a really good show, we all enjoy what we do, and I think people of all ages will really enjoy it.”
Director Louise Blackett has been working with the children for the last couple of months and said it is a play every child should see.
The play will be performed at the Basement Theatre seven times next week, starting with an afternoon performance next Wednesday.
With tickets up for grabs for only $8, this is shaping up to be a school holiday activity not to be missed.
