For Brodie Carter, year 11, she said it has been “amazing” to be surrounded by people with the same interests.
“It’s quite refreshing to come here, obviously we’re all here for the same reasons and all loving it,” she said.
“Music isn’t as appreciated in our small town, which is normal.”
Similarly year 10 student, Josie Moore said this camp has improved her musical abilities.
“I find coming here helps a lot with improvement and it’s really a highlight of my year,” she said.
While Ms Moore isn’t sure what her future holds, she said music will always be a “big part” of her life.
The camp was directed by an experienced rocker Marissa Lucas, who joined the enrichment program for public schools for another year.
Ms Lucas said the camp gives students from rural towns the privilege of professional guidance and training, something which may not be offered in their small towns.
“It gives them a chance with others of the same ability to network and form great friendships,” she said.
