Lake Albert have stretched their unbeaten streak to 11 games after outclassing Cootamundra 3-0 at Rawlings Park on Saturday night.
The Sharks were missing a host of regular starters including Fred and Henri Gardner but didn’t miss a beat against the Strikers in a three-goal first half performance.
“We just came out of the blocks really well and had a 3-0 lead within the first 35 minutes or so,” Lake Albert coach Mitch Tinnock said.
“It was a great start and really good to get the goals early on.”
Tinnock was feeling sore after lacing up the boots for a rare 90 minute cameo at centre mid.
However, the undefeated coach could still manage a grin on Sunday morning.
“I pulled up a bit sore to be honest but it was good to be out there,” Tinnock said.
“I think we managed the game really well, especially in the second half when we had that lead, and our defensive effort was really solid.
“Our reserve grade was a little low on numbers and we had a few blokes out too, so it was pleasing to see both grades come away with a win.”
