It’s a case of 10s all round as the Wagga School of Arts celebrates the 10th anniversary of its popular Riverina Water Tenx10 PlayFest in July.
Ten exciting short plays, coming to life under ten directors in the overall theme of personal persuasions, will provide plenty of entertainment for audiences. For the first time in the festival’s history, performances will be in the Basement Theatre.
Ten directors have been hard at work in recent weeks readying their short plays for performance. The directors are Fay Walters, Katie-Leigh Riley, Tony Trench, Pennie Scott, Jordy Walker, Tim Stait, Craig Dixon, Saasha McMillan, Logan Franklin, and, at just 17, Imogen Hadler, the youngest director for some time.
Together with some of Australia’s top short playwrights, are local writers. Overall, the ten plays provide a variety of styles and stories in the selected theme of personal persuasions.
Celebrating ten years of PlayFest ensures SoACT continues to bring Wagga audiences a theatre buffet, so to speak, and this year will see it ushered in with the sound of trumpets, party whistles and a general air of festivity to salute the success this festival represents.
Riverina Water has been the major sponsor for some six years and share wholeheartedly in the triumph of the event in 2018.
