The subdivision works are to be implemented over three stages at about 40 lots each, with a total estimated cost of $3.8M.
Each of these 129 lots will be sold individually for residential developments, however the director of property for the Catholic Diocese of Wagga, Peter Fitzpatrick said that it was too early at this stage for a price estimate of each lot.
“There has been massive developments out that way and there is a need for continued growth,” Mr Fitzpatrick said.
“The Diocese has been involved in providing residential development in Wagga, and this is part of our commercial enterprises.”
The land is currently being used for agricultural purposes, primarily in cropping and grazing.
The application also proposed for construction of new roads as well as each of these lots to have an extension of new underground services, including underground electricity.
Mr Fitzpatrick said while the application is in the early stages at Council, he is hopeful that construction will commence by the end of this year.
The aim of this development application is to provide for a variety of housing types and densities.
