Henri Gardner scored in the 75th minute to put the Sharks in front against a lively Eagles outfit.
Lake Albert captain Ben Angel was relieved to come away with a win.
“We had a lot more chances than they did but they defended pretty solidly,” Angel said.
“It’s always tough playing out in Tumut.”
The result sees Lake Albert stretch their lead atop the Pascoe Cup ladder after Tolland’s 4-3 loss to Leeton.
