More than 14,000 people have already participated in the Red Dust Healing program, which is quickly spreading around Australia.
Central to the program is the idea that rejection, grief, and loss are the foundation of all forms of hurt and need to be overcome to address lifelong patterns of violence, abuse and neglect.
Melissa Neal, CEO of the Murrumbidgee Private Health Network, said they were pleased to be partnering with the Murrumbidgee Aboriginal Health Consortium to bring this workshop to the region.
“Our local Aboriginal Medical Services have nominated participants to take part in a six day trainer program,” Ms Neal said.
“That will allow the workshops to be delivered into the future throughout the region by local Aboriginal people.”
While the Red Dust Healing program is written from an Aboriginal perspective, all people are welcome to get involved and try it out.
Wagga’s first Red Dust Healing program will be held at the Commercial Club on July 3 from 9am and is completely free to attend.
