Seussical The Musical opens this Thursday at Kooringal High School’s Performing Arts Venue.
Harry Moorby plays Horton the Elephant who tries to save little creatures no one else can see.
“I read so much Dr Seuss as a kid so it’s amazing to be acting in this now,” he said.
"To let the younger kids get a grasp of what Dr Seuss is all about is amazing.
“I have always loved performing and it’s an awesome opportunity to show people what you've got.”
Cain Davey, senior student and publicity officer, said there’s a bit of something for everyone in the musical.
“It’s some of Dr Seuss’ most famous stories happening inside the character Jo Jo’s head,” he said.
“The musical has been six months in the making and it’s all come together.”
Cain said it’s also a great way to unite the school community as different age groups work together and everyone gets ‘hyped’ for the show.
“I make a heap of friends and it’s good for the juniors to work with the seniors, it breaks down that barrier,” he said.
“I would really encourage people to come along and see the show.”
Joel Lowrie, the director has been working hard to get the show ready.
“The students have done an exceptional job,” he said.
“It’s a great example of what aspiring young people can really do when they put their minds to it."
Tickets are almost sold out, but you can still purchase them from the front office of Kooringal High School.
