Royals maintained second position on the men’s division one ladder with an impressive 4-0 win.
It was Harlequins’ first loss since the opening round and their biggest defeat since round 19 last year.
Royals, who previously had not troubled the scoreboard in their past two games against Harlequins, made the most of a one-player advantage.
Harlequins took the field with just 10 players and played one short for the entire game.
Josh O’Donnell was first to score for Royals, while Jack Boyd enjoyed his first goal of the season. Riley Makeham was best for Harlequins.
Lake Albert won the other men’s division one game 4-1 over CSU-Rivcoll.
Rhys McManus led the way and Ben Baker returned to form with a double as Lake Albert notched their fifth win of the season.
Bevan Swaffield scored CSU’s only goal as they crashed to their eighth defeat from the past nine games.
Meantime in women’s division one, LAC United scored a 2-1 win over a gallant CSU-Rivcoll.
Bottom-placed CSU gave LAC United a run for their money in dreadful conditions but the experience of Jesse Thompson and Caitlin O’Loughlin helped LAC United over the line.
Royals maintained their undefeated status with a 4-0 win over Rosellas in the other game.
With the return of captain Emily Paul, Royals’ strikers looked dangerous as Rosellas keeper Jo Dare was put under immense pressure by Maree Beresford, Bron Harper, Nat Rees and Jackie Macarthur.
