The Wagga duo landed a place in the wider Australian squad last month and attended a gruelling weekend camp on the Gold Coast to push their case for national selection.
“We trained for about eight hours on the first day, so it was pretty tough,” Randal said.
“The second day was focused on the mixed footy side of things and we trained mostly with the boys.”
The pair faced a nervous wait before selectors named them both for Australia’s mixed team at the Youth Touch World Cup in Malaysia.
“It’s pretty exciting that Rhiannon and I both made the team,” Randal said.
“We’ve got a few training camps in Sydney before we leave in August.”
Fellow Wagga touch footballer Sophie Crouch also attended the camp and trained with the wider under 18s squad.
