“When we put the new car in for its first service we entered this competition and never thought we’d win,” Mrs Watson said. “We had this van for Jake but we decided it should stay with him so he could get around and not be stuck in the house.”
It was a big day for the family, Mrs Watson said, with two new arrivals.
“It’s been amazing,” Mrs Watson said. “Our lovely occupational therapist Belinda dropped off Jake’s new wheelchair in the morning – we’ve been fighting for that for years – and then we get this car in the afternoon.”
Volkswagen national after-sales manager Jason Davies said he didn’t expect the car to go to such a worthy winner.
“We’re just so excited for the family,” Mr Davies said.
