Dr Mary Ross, who has been practising medicine for more than 25 years, has already expressed her interest in running for office as a member of the Australian Labor Party.
Dr Ross attended a meeting of Labor Party members on Tuesday night, where the group discussed which candidates should be put forward to the next stage of the selection process.
That next stage is Labor’s annual state conference, where members gather once again to vote on and select their senate nominees.
Dr Ross has worked as a medical practitioner since 1991, practising in both Australia and the UK before running her own practice from Tumut for 15 years.
She then started Wagga’s Trail Street Medical Centre in 2011, where she still practises to this day.
Labor’s state conference will be held at Sydney’s Town Hall on June 30 and July 1.
