The NSWCHSSA-Secondary Australian football girls championship was held in Sydney last week, coinciding with the boys event.
A number of Riverina girls shone and were selected in the state team at the conclusion of the carnival.
Kooringal High School’s Mindy Quade was named most valuable player for Riverina and won selection in the NSW team.
Wagga High School’s Abbey Morphett also won selection in the team.
Three girls from Leeton’s St Francis de Sales Regional College, Elizabeth Rutledge, India Lehman and Mikayla Jones, were also picked.
Hay’s Delilah Crighton and Finley’s Lily Sharp were also selected from the Riverina team.
Riverina CHS finished the championships in fourth position. Greater Sydney CHS won the carnival. CCC finished second, while CIS was third.
