The team were faultless during their campaign, winning four from four to cap off a remarkable 12 months in the black and white jersey.
“We backed up from last year and it was a very good result,” Lyons said.
“We had a lot of players from last year back in the side and we’re having a very good run.”
The girls beat Bathurst 4-0 in their opening game before beating Far South Coast 2-0 and Wellington 2-0.
Unbeaten Eurobadalla proved stiff opponents in the penultimate game but Wagga kept their nerve to see out a 2-1 win and seal the championship.
Molly Surian impressed with an early hat-trick against Bathurst while Zoe Jenkins and captain Piper Scott were standouts in a winning side.
Now in his fourth year of coaching the side, Lyons is pleased to see the game continue to grow with more female participants.
“It’s good to see more and more girls getting involved and playing soccer,” he said.
