United coach Travis Weir said McCracken had reportedly been feeling “unwell” ahead of Friday night’s clash with Cootamundra but played the first half before succumbing to injury.
United captain Lincoln Weir was unsure of McCracken’s condition on Monday morning and expressed hope for his return.
“He’s got some kind of calf strain but I haven’t had the chance to see him since the game,” Weir said.
“We’re hoping he’ll be ok.”
McCracken’s absence was telling in the 3-2 loss as Cootamundra piled on three unanswered goals to steal the game at Rawlings Park.
