Kildare were a standout in Pool 1 and kept a clean sheet across their three fixtures while Wagga High stood tall against Mount Austin and Gundagai.
“I was very happy with the boys and their effort out there,” Kildare coach Matt Conn said.
“Defensively, I though we were outstanding and all the stuff we’ve worked on at training has paid off.”
Kildare defeated Mater Dei 12-0 in their opening game before outgunning Tumut High 14-0 and Kooringal High 16-0.
Young fullback Kye Wright caught the coach’s eye with a string of high quality performances while Jack Flanagan and Joe Cole put in mountains of work for Kildare.
“Wright was probably our players’ player .. but there were no passengers out there,” Conn said.
Kildare, along with Wagga High, now get a shot at making state semi finals but Conn isn’t getting ahead of himself.
“We still had a few boys missing … and we’re just focusing on the Riverina finals for now,” he said.
Mater Dei dominated the under 13 division and will fight it out for a spot in the state semi finals after dominating Pool 2.
