I would like to give my personal thank you to the team from the Kapooka Army base, especially Ben and the lovely young women recruits, who gave up their Sunday morning to participate in the appeal to raise funds for the Salvation Army at the South City Shopping Centre.
Their interaction with the public was wonderful. The event was full of friendship and respect which was notable from both the team and the general public.
Thank you all once again for an enjoyable morning. Your help on the day was very much appreciated

Giving up on Qantas
I am disgusted with Alan Joyce for caving in to the Chinese communist government and agreeing to refer to the independent, democratic country of Taiwan as "Chinese Territory", especially as this came just one day after the anniversary of the Tiananmen Square massacre.
Mainland China is a totalitarian communist dictatorship and Republic of China (Taiwan) is a democratic, free country – does he want any more reason to recognise Taiwan as sovereign state?
Using this kind of blackmail the Chinese Communist Party is gradually spreading its control over the whole world.
I am even more disgusted with Malcolm Turnbull for agreeing with Joyce's decision, but then we all know the Liberal Party depends on massive donations emanating from the Chinese Communist Party operatives in Australia to keep going, don't we?
I will never fly Qantas again and I shall strongly urge everyone else to boycott Qantas as well. I hope they go broke, actually.

The continued strongly biased comments by Ray Goodlass, always painting Palestinians white and Israelis black, are of such a nature that he is making himself progressively less believable.
In his article of May 15, he writes about “disturbing television footage of the Israeli military’s lethal response to a series of peaceful demonstrations held by Palestinian residents every Friday”.
Peaceful demonstrations! That’s twisting the truth. This is what happened: Armed Palestinians terrorists using human shields were attempting to invade Israel with the specific goal of murdering or kidnapping civilians. These Hamas terrorists urged Palestinians to destroy the border fence and attack Israelis. Hamas maps and social media showed the fastest routes to reach Israeli communities in case the terrorists made it through the security fence.
Hamas loud speakers urged demonstrators to burst through the fence and claimed Israeli soldiers were fleeing when in face they were not.
Peaceful demonstrations? Take note of this Ray: The ABC’s attempt to whitewash the nature of the terrorist attack was demonstratively nullified by the co-founder of Hamas, Mahmoud al-Zakar, who told Al-Jazeera that the terror group was “deceiving the public” when it spoke of “peaceful resistance” before the violent attacks began.
A Hamas official acknowledged that of the 62 Palestinians reported killed during the Gaza riots on Monday and Tuesday, 50 were Hamas and three were Islamic, totalling 53 terrorists.
In giving ongoing biased opinions and ignoring realities, Mr Goodlass doesn’t do his “cause” any good, but harm.
