The walk was in aid of the Mark Hughes Foundation’s Beanies 4 Brain Cancer campaign and was organised by Wagga’s Reid family.
Geoff Reid has been diagnosed with a brain tumour, and he organised the walk with wife Cathy and daughters Alyce, Maddie and Geoff.
Mrs Reid said the family had been overwhelmed by the turnout.
“This is the first time the walk has been held in Wagga, but there has been so much support, we are hoping to make it an annual event,” she said.
“There are a lot of friends of friends here, but there are also a lot of people we don’t know who have come along to support the walk.”
