Glorious weather and a relaxed atmosphere that catered to everyone brought a crowd of almost 5000 to the Kurrajong Race Day.
The crowd was so large, it could well equal the record-making 2017 turnout.
Cathie Smith, manager of the Kurrajong Foundation, described Saturday’s 30th annual event, described it as a fantastic day.
“It just couldn’t be better,” Ms Smith said.
Scott Sanbrook, chief executive officer of the Murrumbidgee Turf Club said about 2000 youngsters were taking advantage of the child-friendly activities on offer.
Children had their own hospitality area with a variety of activities, and there were plenty of little painted faces – all sporting big grins – zipping through the crowd.
“It’s just an absolute ripper, a great day,” Mr Sanbrook said.
Money raised from the 2018 race day will go to Kurrajong’s Hildasid Community Farm project.
Mrs Smith said construction had just begun at the community farm’s Gregadoo Road site.
