It comes close-to seven months after members of Wagga Community Blitz gave Shaw Street Children’s Centre an outdoor make-over.
One of the group’s founding members, Charles Talbot said applications had closed for the next project, with close-to 10 residents and businesses vying for the big-hearted handymen to come to the rescue.
“We’d like to help everyone,” Mr Talbot said. “Sadly, it’s just not possible.”
Since 2015, the team of close-to 10 members has brought jacks of all trades together for a chosen house-maintenance or landscaping project, every nine months.
The tradies’ skills and local resources are set to transform deserving applicant’s lives again in coming weeks.
“We can’t solve all their problems or fix everything,” Mr Talbot said. “But we can make their garden pretty and give them something to look forward to.”
He said the team “just wanted to help people”.
“We try to keep things simple,” Mr Talbot said. “We assess applicants, choose someone deserving, assess the job and complete it.”
