With about one in every five Junee residents carrying out some kind of volunteer work each and every week, Junee Shire Council decided to host the free event to help volunteer organisations network and build their skills.
Grant Johnson, the director of business and community for Junee Shire Council, said they have had a great response to the summit so far.
“We know that 21 per cent of our Junee Shire population already carry out some kind of voluntary work every week, which in itself is extraordinary in a small shire,” Mr Johnson said.
“This unsung industry keeps the ‘wheels on’ for many members of our community, but it’s also a great source of social wellbeing, inclusiveness, and skill sharing.”
A diverse mix of clubs and volutneers have registered.
