With dry weather and a top of 18 degrees being predicted, Saturday’s race day looks set to be another smash.
The annual race day is popular with racegoers because it offers something for everyone, from the serious punter to the family on an outing.
Manager of the Kurrajong Foundation Cathie Smith said the race day would put a special emphasis on children, who will have food and refreshments in their own hospitality area, plus an array of rides and entertainment.
Chief executive of the Murrumbidgee Turf Club, Scott Sanbrook, is looking froward to Saturday’s event, which will this year benefit Kurrajong’s Hildasid Community Farm project.
“Kurrajong Race Day is always as a fantastic family event and is going stronger now than when it was established 30 years ago,” Mr Sanbrook said.
“Last year the meeting drew a crowd of 5000 – including more than 2000 children – and I would be expecting an even bigger turnout on Saturday.
“The amazing hospitality, especially for the children, is testimony to all the hard work of the organisers from Kurrajong.”
Pre-purchased $30 tickets include drinks and food, are available from Kurrajong, Hunters 1866, Fitzpatricks Real Estate and the Kincaid Street Cafe.
