Wagga trainer Tim Donnelly and his apprentice jockey Rebeka Prest will combine on Marco Man in the $60,000 TAB Highway Class Two Handicap (1200m).
Marco Man was downed right on the line by the unbeaten Hemmerle on Cup day and Donnelly believes a similar performance will have him thereabouts at Rosehill.
“Coup De Main is favourite and Danny (Williams) rates Hemmerle similar to him. Hemmerle just beat us on Cup day but we get a three kilogram claim so a bit of help in the weights,” he said.
“I think there is a bit of improvement in him from the other day as well. That should put him at his top.
“This is his chance. He’s ran in three Highways before and not that he should have won any but he’s had excuses each time.”
Prest will also ride Didnt Even Kiss Me for Scott Spackman in the $100,000 Benchmark 80 Mares Handicap (1400m) at Rosehill on Saturday.
Wagga jockey Nick Heywood also has three rides at Rosehill.
He will ride Coup De Main in the Highway, along with Queen of the South second placegetter Hay Now.
