Kildare Catholic College will move into the Tracey Gunson Shield semi-finals as title favourites after a thrilling one-goal win over Mater Dei Catholic College on Thursday. Kildare finished on top of Pool A after an exciting 35-34 win over their arch-rivals at Wagga Netball Centre. The win booked Kildare a semi-final clash with The Riverina Anglican College (TRAC), while Mater Dei will meet Kooringal High School, who had no hiccups with a win over Wagga Christian College. Kooringal only needed to defeat Christian College to ensure a semi-final berth and they did so in fine style, winning 35-17. Wagga High School concluded their campaign on a bright note as they thrashed Mount Austin High School 64-0. It gave Wagga High second spot in Pool B, but it was not enough to make the semi-finals. TRAC will need to reverse a 33-28 loss to Kildare last Tuesday when they meet in the semi-final. Mater Dei and Kooringal are yet to face each other. The semi-finals will be played on Tuesday at 4.15pm. The final will be the following Tuesday, May 29. Meanwhile in the year 7-8 competition, TRAC finished on top of Pool A and will take on Kildare in one semi-final. Wagga High topped Pool B and will take on Mater Dei in the other semi-final.
