Wagga Greyhound Club will host the second of three big meetings on Friday night when the heats of the Gold Cup are run.
There will also be four heats of a new race, the Men of League Riverina 1-4 Wins (320m), with the final to be run on Cup night on Friday week.
In memory of Geoff Honey, if the red or blue rug win the final a $500 bonus will be awarded to the winning trainer, courtesy of Wagga Greyhound Club, the Honey family and Ladbrokes.
Red and blue were Geoff’s favourite colours.
As part of Men of League Riverina’s involvement, a front rowers race will be held on the trotting track on Cup night.
Rothmans Medal winner Mike Eden will be a special guest, while Greyhound Racing NSW chief executive Tony Mestrov will also be in attendance.
