An 18-year-old man was issued with a criminal infringement notice for offensive behaviour when he was spotted defecating behind the St Vincent de Paul building.
Riverina Police District Inspector Peter McLay said people were generally well behaved this Anzac Day, with more than 1000 people marking the occasion at the William Farrer Hotel.
Inspector McLay said despite the general high standard, another three notices were issued after a scuffle broke out on Baylis Street about 12.30am on Thursday morning.
A man was left with a minor lip injury after the fight broke out between three people outside JD’s Kebabs.
“We had quite a few extra police working for Anzac Day, with up to a dozen extra tasked to look after licensed premises and keep an eye on intoxication levels,” he said.
“Given the large amount of people around, most people are very well behaved.”
Inspector McLay said investigations into the scuffle are still ongoing.
The 18-year-old man could face a fine of up to $500.
