Lost Lanes will showcase three new murals in Cadell Place – behind Knights Meats and the Thirsty Crow – along with live music, street food and roving performers.
Fitz Live curator Damian Evans, who studied music in Melbourne, said it would help bring some inner-city funkiness to Wagga.
“How exciting to have another festival that showcases the creative arts in this area,” Mr Evans said. “It really stamps Wagga as a hip small city and we’re leading the way for other smaller cities in having a vibrant artistic culture.”
Scott Howie from Eastern Riverina Arts congratulated council for trying to find ways to activate disused spaces.
“Think about how different those places can be, it’s not ugly but it’s pretty industrial-looking,” Mr Howie said.
“This would put some life back in there and could be a fun day.”
