The 21-year-old made his first NRL appearance after coming off the bench in Penrith’s loss to Cronulla.
Wearing the number 21 jumper, Hetherington made three runs and 12 tackles as the Panthers went down 26-22.
Hetherington has come through the Panthers feeder system after leaving the Cherrypickers following the 2014 season.
