The Swans came out of their pre-season shell and blew the much-hyped Eagles away, 24.11 (155) to 6.10 (46).
Griffith set the tone with a seven-goal opening term and had opened up a 49-point buffer by half-time. The Swans put the icing on the cake with a 10-goal last quarter.
“I’m ecstatic, the boys played really well,” new Griffith coach Will Griggs said.
“It was a great way to start the year. The most positive thing was to kick 10 goals in the last quarter, it showed our fitness is where we want it to be.”
It was not Narrandera’s night and serious injuries to D’Andre Williams and Tyler Webster only made things worse.
Griggs was most impressed by James Taylor on Josh Bennett, new ruckman Riley Irvin and Theo Valeri, who booted four goals.
Josh Bennett kicked three goals in his first game for Narrandera, while Corey Baxter was the Eagles’ best.
