For the second time in three weeks the Blacks were victorious in Wagga.
They proved too strong for CSU, scoring a 29-12 victory at Beres Ellwood Oval.
The Blacks started off the season with a big win over Wagga City, but stumbled at home last week.
However coach Craig Morriss thought they played with much more intensity this time around to get the win.
One concern for Morriss was the Blacks defence late.
They let CSU get on the board when Ali Todua and Ben Delphin crossed near the finish.
“They got a couple of very easy tries which we have to work on,” Morriss said.
“We didn’t close off the ruck and they went through so there is room for improvement for sure, but it was still a good effort by the guys.
“They have improved each week and we just have to keep going with that standard.”
The back line was strong for Griffith in both attack and defence.
Johnny Brown and Dan Bozic both crossed for doubles in the win.
Morriss believes the forwards continue to improve.
However still wants to see more continuity in their ranks, but believes it is coming along.
Another positive note was the Blacks didn’t pick up any more injuries after a couple of players have go down to start the season.
The Blacks have now won double the amount of games they did last season and sit inside the top five after three rounds.
Morriss also thanked CSU for accommodating an earlier timeslot.
Griffith are now looking for their first home win against Albury while CSU has a big challenge up against Leeton.
