West Wyalong and Temora will share the spotlight as they combine to stage the 2018 Oil Track Masters for seniors, juniors and sidecars.
Lone Pine Speedway at West Wyalong starts proceedings on Saturday, before the action heads to Woodlands Speedway at Temora on Sunday.
Among the entries are Australian Championships winners Paul Caslick (Newcastle), Marty McNamara (Gunnedah) and West Wyalong’s own Matt Davies.
A number of locals are expected to feature prominently, including West Wyalong teenager Tom Herrick and Temora brothers Ashley and Luke Wilesmith.
Temora will also be represented by young guns Ryan New, Ben Miller and Blake and Derek Hingerty.
The junior masters, for 13-16 years, is expected to be hotly contested with last month’s Casey Stoner Cup winner, Singleton's Ryan Smith, set to battle Riverina riders Callan Butcher (Griffith), Kruze Brady (Leeton) and Remmie Fyfe (Albury).
The Dirt Track Sidecar Masters will take on extra significance as the West Wyalong meeting will be the first open meeting since the death of former Australian champion Anthony Davies.
As well as a two-wheel competition, Matt Davies will also pilot the #414 sidecar formerly ridden by his father, while Anthony’s brother Shane will also compete.
A total of 19 classes will race during both days with over 100 races each day.
Seven junior classes range from 50cc nippers to 15-year olds riding 125cc-250 cc 4strokes.
Seniors will have 12 classes including 450, Open, side cars, ATV 4 wheelers, pre 85 year, pre 75 classics, Over 35 years.
Both days will culminate with three championship 10 lap races to decide the winners.
Action starts at 9am with a shootout to conclude both day’s competition.
