IDEAS in Tumut, which plays a vital role in connecting people around the Riverina with disabilities to a wide range of support services, had been left in limbo after disability advocacy services were left out of the handover.
However, the Premier announced a $26 million funding package on Friday, which will fund up to 50 advocacy and information services like IDEAS through to 2020.
IDEAS chief executive Diana Palmer welcomed the funding, but said operational uncertainties remained.
“We are yet to find out to what degree our information service can be sustained. This depends on the outcomes of the grants process through the NDIS, which are yet to be announced,” she said.
